We live in a world that thrives on achievements, titles, and outward appearances. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our worth, our relationship with God, and our standing in His eyes are based on what we can do for Him. But what can we truly offer the Creator of the universe, the One who owns everything, the One who needs nothing?

It’s a powerful question to consider—what can we give the God who has everything?

The answer isn’t found in what we can do or what we can offer in terms of good works, titles, or traditions. Instead, the answer is found in something deeply personal: our hearts. God desires the one thing that only we can give Him—a surrendered heart.

Too often, we try to offer God our performance—good works, religious activity, or a polished exterior. While there is nothing wrong with doing good, it’s important to remember that God looks beyond the outward acts. He sees the heart. Psalm 51:17 reminds us, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”

God isn’t impressed by how much we can do or how well we can perform. What moves His heart is the humility, repentance, and authenticity of a heart that recognizes its need for Him. A broken and contrite heart is one that acknowledges that without God, we are nothing. It is a heart that surrenders, not out of obligation, but out of a deep love and trust in the One who created us.

We live in a world that values power, success, and control. It can be hard to imagine that God isn’t looking for us to climb the ladder of success or to earn our place in His favor. But God’s heart is not drawn to the proud, the self-sufficient, or the mighty. Isaiah 66:2 makes this clear: “But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”

God doesn’t need our achievements; He desires humility. He is drawn to those who recognize their weakness and depend on His strength. He values those who tremble at His Word—those who respect His authority and long to follow His guidance. Humility is not about self-deprecation, but about recognizing the greatness of God and our smallness in comparison. It’s about saying, “God, You are God, and I am Yours.”

In Romans 12:1, Paul calls believers to a radical, all-encompassing form of surrender: “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”

What can we give to God who has everything? We can give Him ourselves. Not just our works or our titles, but our whole selves—our minds, our hearts, our will, our time. When we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, we are saying, “God, I am Yours completely. I surrender all that I am for Your glory.” This isn’t a one-time act; it’s a daily decision to yield ourselves to His will and purposes.

God isn’t interested in half-hearted devotion. He doesn’t want our leftovers, our spare time, or our second-best. 2 Chronicles 16:9 reveals a beautiful truth: “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.”

God is actively searching for hearts that are fully His—hearts that are yielded to Him in complete surrender. He promises to support and strengthen those whose hearts are fully His. This is not about perfection but about a wholehearted commitment to trust and obey God, to walk in His ways, and to know Him deeply.

The heart of the matter is this: God desires a relationship with us. It’s not about what we can do for Him, but about how we respond to Him. He doesn’t need our religious acts or our outward displays; He desires our humility, trust, and obedience. It’s time to stop performing for God and start yielding to Him.

What is God waiting to receive from you? Is it a heart that surrenders in humility? A heart that trusts in His goodness? A heart that obeys His Word?

As you reflect on this question, take a moment to ask yourself: What is the condition of your heart? Have you been offering God your performance, or have you been offering Him the one thing that He desires most—a heart fully surrendered to Him?

The God who has everything is waiting for you to offer Him all your heart.
