CASPER (WNE) — Amanda DeDiego has been named the interim dean of the University of Wyoming at Casper.

DeDiego was recently voted in by the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees.

Brent Pickett informed the Casper College Board of Trustees in July that he would be leaving the University of Wyoming at Casper for a position at the University of New Mexico.

The two colleges have had a long-standing relationship and even share a building with each other.

DeDiego is temporarily filling in the position until the official search can be completed.

In addition to choosing the interim dean for the Casper campus, the board received an update on the presidential search.

Ed Seidel announced in July he would be stepping down as president once his current contract ended. Seidel stepped into the role of president in July 2020. His contract is set to end in June 2026.

Trustees Chairman Kermit Brown emphasized to the committee and attendees that the search for a new president was a “work in progress.”
