Four individuals on ICE holds, arrested and arraigned for drug charges in Sheridan

SHERIDAN (WNE) — Edwin Lopez, Mauro Solorzano, Cesar Hernandez and Luis Hernandez faced arraignments in Sheridan County Circuit Court Thursday for drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
All four individuals are not legal citizens of the United States and are on Immigration and Customs Enforcement holds at the Sheridan County Detention Center.
According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website, an ICE hold is a request from ICE that asks a state or local agency — including jails, prisons or other confinement facilities — to hold an alien for up to 48 hours beyond the time they would ordinarily release them so the Department of Homeland Security has time to assume custody in accordance with federal immigration law.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 22, law enforcement officials responded to a driving under the influence citizen report.
Lopez was reportedly driving the vehicle in which the other three individuals were passengers. He provided a suspended drivers license from Minnesota.
Law enforcement searched the vehicle and found marijuana and multiple open containers of alcohol. Two backpacks were located, one containing a double-sided combat knife and a bag of marijuana and the other containing methamphetamine.
All four suspects were arrested for possession and use of a controlled substance.
Cesar Hernandez and Lopez pleaded guilty to possession charges and were sentenced Thursday to 10 days in jail. They will serve their sentence in the Sheridan County Detention Center.
Luis Hernandez and Solorzano pleaded not guilty to possession and use of a controlled substance and a $2,500 cash only bond was set for both of them. As of Friday morning, they had not posted bond.
All four are awaiting to be deported back to their home country.
