TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Eastern Wyoming College is celebrating another historic milestone as its Esports Fortnite Team claimed its second consecutive national championship, capping off an undefeated two-season run.
Team members Ryder Tillard, Bridger Bruce, and Allen Woodard powered through the national tournament with grit and precision. EWC opened the semifinals with a strong 3-1 victory over Hutchinson Community College of Kansas. The team advanced to an intense national championship match, edging out Ranger College of Texas in a thrilling 3-2 grand finals win.
With this title, the Lancers continue to solidify their dominance in collegiate esports. The program now holds two national championships, two three-time regional titles, and an unprecedented 24-match undefeated streak, a run that spans two full seasons, including both postseason and national tournament play.
“This team continues to raise the bar for what’s possible in collegiate esports,” EWC Esports coach Caleb Spitzer said. “Their focus, teamwork, and competitive spirit have built a legacy that our campus and community are incredibly proud of.”
The back-to-back national champions will be recognized during upcoming campus events, with details to be announced.
EWC’s freshman team, made up of Xavier Moeller, Drew Boche and Tilly (Ty) Fogle, finished ninth overall at nationals.
