PHOENIX – Cowgirl golf returns to action at the Grand Canyon University Invitational starting Tuesday on the Par-72, 6,510-yard GCU Golf Course.

Wyoming will compete against the Lopes, the new Mountain West rivals, as well as Idaho, Northern Illinois and Northwood University in the 54-hole tournament.

Meghan Vogt, Elle Higgins, Kiley Reisner, Kira Reisner and Emerson Purcell will be in the lineup for UW.  Sophie Spiva, Ellie Barry and Erika Cook will be competing as individuals.

The Cowgirls won the consolation bracket at the Mountain Classic Matchplay event in Palm Desert, Calif., to open the spring schedule.

"It has been quite some time since we competed in this event, but I believe the course set up complements our game strengths," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "Our preparation focus has been on feedback from the Matchplay without deviating from our routine and process."

During the fall, Higgins and Vogt each set the program record for lowest round with 67s, and Kiley Reisner was named the MW freshman of the month for September.
