Wyoming finishes runner-up at Utah Valley Invitational to open season

Kiley Reisner finishes third individually at -3 to lead Cowgirls

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – The Cowgirls finished as the runner-up for the second consecutive season at the Utah Valley Invitational on the 6,270-yard, par-72 TalonsCove Golf Club.

Wyoming, which held the 36-hole lead entering Tuesday's final round, posted a collective score of 877 (+13) to finish two shots behind host Utah Valley (875, +11) and one shot ahead of third-place Southern Utah (878, +14).

Kiley Reisner finished third individually at 3-under, carding 71 in all three rounds, to lead the Cowgirls.

Southern Utah's Saylar May (-8) was the individual medalist and Portland State's Cynthia Valerie Ong (-5) was the runner-up after shooting 68 on Tuesday.

Junior Emerson Purcell (+6) and senior Elle Higgins (+6) finished tied for 14th for the tournament. Juniors Lucia Morelli (+9) and Kira Reisner (+9) rounded out the scoring for the Brown and Gold.

UW was the runner-up at this event in 2025 at -11 (853), which was the lowest tournament score in program history. Higgins set the program record for individual low round with a 68 (-5) and set the record for lowest tournament score in program history at -7 (209) to finish second.

The Cowgirls will next compete at the Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State Sept. 21-22 at Ptarmigan Country Club.
