Two Washington residents arrested in Sheridan for possession, child endangering

SHERIDAN (WNE) — Two Washington residents were found possessing methamphetamine in a vehicle in which a 2-year-old child was present in Sheridan. Both appeared over Zoom for an initial appearance hearing Monday.
According to court documents, Anthony Bower and Christina Morlan were passing through Sheridan with the intent to deliver methamphetamine in Kansas. A family dispute was reported and law enforcement made contact with Bower and Morlan Saturday evening in the Taco Bell parking lot. Bower admitted he had been upset and had been yelling profanities because the car broke down.
A K-9 partner conducted a free air sniff around the car and gave a positive indication for the presence of controlled substances in the car.
According to court documents, a search of the car revealed 36 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. A clear glass pipe, commonly referred to as a “crack pipe” with white residue was in the center console of the car — directly in front of the child’s car seat.
According to court documents, Morlan told law enforcement that the 2-year-old child was their daughter. Morlan said she had been given methamphetamine in Washington and was delivering it to someone in Kansas as a favor. Morlan admitted to a law enforcement officer they had been using methamphetamine by smoking it in a pipe.
Bower and Morlan were arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver and child endangerment. Morlan has nine warrants out of Idaho for felony charges.
Bond for Morlan and Bower is set at $25,000 cash only. Both intend to apply for a court appointed attorney and will have a preliminary hearing in the near future.
