Two die in separate crashes
DOUGLAS (WNE) — Rosalind Bach, 48, of Gillette, died Sept. 4 when the Ram 1500 pickup she was driving southbound on WYO59 north of Douglas rolled.
The driver was attempting to negotiate a curve when the vehicle crossed the center line, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The truck then struck a bridge support and guard rail, causing it to roll. Troopers reported that Bach was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Speed, driver inattention and driver fatigue are being considered factors in the crash.
On Sept. 14, the WHP responded to another rollover on WY 270 near Manville in Niobrara County.
Troopers determined a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck was northbound on WY 270 when the driver failed to negotiate the curve. The driver, James Arnold, 67, of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, died at the scene.
Speed is being investigated as the primary cause of the crash. Arnold was not wearing a seatbelt.
