LARAMIE (WNE) — Writing in The Christian Post, which touts itself as the leading news outlet for Protestant Christians, travel writer Dennis Lennox called Laramie “one of the West’s best-kept secrets.”

In a column entitled “Come for football, stay for Laramie,” Lennox said the college town’s “strong patina and unmistakable sense of place also make it a classic frontier town,” according to a news release. “As one might expect, Laramie comes alive when the Cowboys football team plays at War Memorial Stadium. Brown and gold appear everywhere, tailgates fill the parking lots, and crowds head toward the stadium, which doubles Laramie’s population of 31,407,” he wrote. “The surprise is how much there is to do. Visitors could spend two or three days exploring before venturing beyond the city limits.”

In addition to The Christian Post, the column was republished by MSN. Together, the two websites receive more than 500 million monthly visitors per month.
