Trade association releases Wyoming, U.S. data on EVs

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Alliance for Automotive Innovation has released its exclusive state-by-state analysis of the U.S. electric vehicle market for Q4 and full year 2025.

The Get Connected Electric Vehicle Report summarizes EV sales, purchasing trends and charging infrastructure across the country.

Nationally, EVs represented 6.5% of new light-duty vehicle sales in Q4 2025 — down from 12.6% in Q3 2025 and 10.9% in Q4 2024. For full-year 2025, EV market share was 9.6%.

A total of 164 EV car, utility vehicle, pickup truck and van models are now available for sale in the U.S. as of Q4 2025.

In Wyoming, EVs represented 1.74% of new light-duty vehicle sales in Q4 2025 — down from 2.65% in Q3 2025 and down from 2.7% in Q4 2024. In Q4 2025, 104 EVs were sold in Wyoming.

Wyoming ranks No. 47 in EV market share. For the full year in Wyoming, EV market share was 2.26%, 7.33 percentage points below the national average of 9.6%.

Nationally, in Q4 2025, there were 7.3 million EVs on the road and a total of 236,945 publicly available charging outlets — a ratio of 31 EVs for every public port. This includes 66,926 DC Fast chargers, with 1,263 net new chargers added in Q4 2025.

In Wyoming, at the end of Q4 2025, there were about 3,100 EVs on the road and 332 publicly available charging outlets — a ratio of nine EVs for every public port. Wyoming ranks No. 1 in the ratio of EVs to public chargers.
