They Never Worry

Some people never question their salvation—because they’re not saved. Real believers wrestle, but the lost walk in false peace. This post exposes the danger of pretending and the truth about assurance.
There’s a difference between questioning and pretending. Real believers, even with the assurance of salvation, still feel the weight of it sometimes. Not because they doubt God—but because they know how easily hearts can drift. That quiet nudge, that holy discomfort, isn’t fear—it’s grace. It’s God keeping us awake. But the truly lost? They don’t feel that at all. They walk with confidence they shouldn’t have, convinced they’re fine because they look the part. And that’s where this gets dangerous.
The lost never worry about whether they’re saved. The idea of assurance never even crosses their mind. They’re not burdened with conviction. They don’t stay up at night questioning their standing before God. Their conscience doesn’t ache. Their heart doesn’t stir. They walk around with false confidence and religious habits, convinced that being good enough or knowing the right words will somehow be enough. But it won’t.
They’re sleepwalking toward hell. Quietly. Comfortably. Confidently. Bible in hand. Worship songs on their lips, hands in the air. Hearts untouched.
But the saved? They wrestle. They fall, but they feel it. They stray, but they hear the Shepherd’s voice calling them home. They don’t stay in sin because they can’t. The Spirit inside them won’t let them rest there.
That’s the difference. That’s the evidence. A child of God can wander, but he won’t stay lost. Because the Shepherd always comes for His own.
But if you’ve been living in rebellion and it doesn’t bother you… If sin has become normal and you feel no tug, no grief, no conviction… That’s not salvation. That’s spiritual death.
And if you’re still breathing, that should terrify you.
You can sing every worship song. You can carry a Bible. You can sit in church your whole life. But if there’s no repentance, no change, no fire—then you’ve got religion, not redemption.
God isn’t interested in your performance. He wants your heart. And if He doesn’t have it—completely—then you are still lost.
There is no middle ground. There is no “kinda saved.” You’re either redeemed, or you’re not.
So here’s the real question: When was the last time you were convicted? When was the last time you couldn’t sleep because you knew something had to change?
If you can’t remember… friend, you’d better hit your knees.
This isn’t a warning to scare you. This is a warning to save you. Because the lost don’t worry.
But the saved? They can’t help but tremble at the thought of being far from Him.
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” — 2 Corinthians 13:5
