Support local journalism

To the Editor,

I support the News Letter Journal’s increase in price for a single issue and for a subscription. I cannot imagine the void that would be created if we were to lose our local newspaper. From current news topics to sports coverage to editorials, every section of the newspaper is important in communicating and recognizing what is happening in our community. 

When a major issue surfaces, we look to the News Letter Journal to keep us informed, often over a period of weeks or months. Imagine if we only had social media and hearsay—no facts to rely on for understanding changes and issues that affect us all.  

So, I will gladly pay the price increase to keep this vital part of our community alive. Three dollars for the weekly issue is a bargain. Many people pay $3 for a regular-sized coffee — which is gone in 15 minutes.
