Second tourist gored by bison in Yellowstone National Park

JACKSON (WNE) — A tourist was gored by a bison Tuesday morning in Yellowstone National Park.
The bison went after the 30-year-old New Jersey man after a group of tourists got too close to it. The incident occurred in the Upper Geyser Basin at Old Faithful.
The brush with the bovine left the man with minor injuries. He was treated and transported by emergency medical responders.
The incident is the second of the season, following the early May goring of a Florida man. There were two gorings in the park in 2024 and just one in 2023.
Bison are defensive of their space and have injured more people in Yellowstone than any other animal. Parkgoers are required to stay more than 25 yards away from bison and other large animals and 100 yards away from large carnivores.
