Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is a local exchange carrier providing telecommunication services across Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota. Established in 1953 as a nonprofit cooperative, Range began by serving over 6,000 subscribers across eighteen telephone exchanges, covering six counties in Montana and five in Wyoming.

Seizing opportunities for growth, Range expanded its footprint by acquiring Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. in 1991, and in 1993, Range purchased sixteen exchanges from US West and formed RT Communications. In response to evolving industry needs, Range’s leadership founded Advanced Communications Technology, Inc. in 1997 to expand its long-haul fiber network.  In 2020, Range rebranded under the unified vision of “One Company, One Network,” combining four companies into a single brand.

Today, Range serves more than 13,000 broadband subscribers in over 30 communities, operates over 4,700 miles of fiber-optic network, and employs more than 160 communications professionals specializing in engineering, construction, project management, operations, and network maintenance. Range is committed to meeting the growing demand for next-generation communication services and plans to invest at least $150 million in fiber infrastructure over the next decade.

With offices in Forsyth, MT, Sheridan, WY, Worland, WY, and Dubois, WY, Range proudly delivers next-generation internet, voice, and network solutions to both business and residential customers— and continues to expand its fiber network to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
