Pokes Posts Even More PRs on Day Two in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Dec. 16, 2025) – Day two of the UNLV Invitational saw Wyoming swim recording five major personal records, many of which broke times from the same pool, at Buchanan Natatorium on Tuesday.

“We ramped up our energy today and had several more personal records,” head coach Dave Denniston said on day two’s action from Vegas. “Highlights include Raiden Harris in the 200 freestyle, Andrew Cooper in the 400 IM, Isla Hardie in the 100 fly and Joe Morales and Ava Salverson in the 100 breaststroke.”

COWGIRLS

Isla Hardie showed out in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing seventh in the final with a time of 55.89. She also posted a time of 55.58 in the prelims.

In the 400-yard IM, Cowgirls were led by junior Katie Ford in seventh with a time of 4:33.96. She would make the final after finishing with a time of 4:31.99 in the prelims.

Freshman Raiden Harris pulled out a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with her time of 1:49.28. In the prelims, she would swim a personal record of 1:48.71, nearly three seconds faster and just outside the program Top 10.

Junior Taylor Craft led Wyoming in the 100-yard breaststroke in third, but the big story was sophomore Ava Salverson. She would swim a time of 1:04.60, a personal best, beating her previous best set in the same pool.

Cowgirls closed the night in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The crew of sophomore Avery True, junior Taylor Cureton, junior Tessa Bendokas and senior Ellie Fritscher would finish ninth at 7:44.18.

COWBOYS

The Cowboys opened the evening slate with the 200-yard medley relay. The squad of junior Cameron Knox, sophomore Joe Morales, sophomore Gray Sisco and sophomore Luke O’Connor finished third with a time of 1:28.36.

Morales would also take third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best of 54.05.

In the men’s 100-yard butterfly, junior Adam Pannell placed fifth with a time of 48.00, a personal best and 0.67 seconds faster than his prelim time.

Sophomore Andrew Cooper broke his personal record in the 400-yard IM in the same meet he did a year ago with his eighth-place time of 4:02.09. He would one-up his prelim time by over a second, a time that would also be a PR.

In the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Isaac Lee placed sixth, touching the wall at 1:39.66.

Senior Collin Davis swam a time of 48.65 in the 100-yard butterfly. This looks to be, after “some paperwork,” to be a USA Deaf Swimming record. Davis would now hold the 50- and 100-yard fly records.

Like the women, the men’s 800-yard freestyle relay closed day two’s action. The team of Sisco, sophomore Zack Smith, Lee and Cooper would finish with a season-best time of 6:45.74 for fifth.

Denniston added, “We are happy with the team’s performances, and we are by far the loudest team at the pool, led by the contagious enthusiasm of Zack Smith.”
