Pokes to Close 2025 at UNLV Invitational Next Week

LAS VEGAS (Dec. 12, 2025) – Wyoming swimming looks ahead to its largest meet of the season so far when it travels to Las Vegas, Nev., for the UNLV Invitational, Dec. 15-17.

Wyoming will only send swimmers to UNLV for next week’s three-day meet. They will take on competition from Alaska Fairbanks, Cal Baptist, Colorado Mesa, Pacific, Tulane and UNLV, the most teams the group has seen as a whole this season.
Action in Vegas will be streamed live on the UNLV Athletics YouTube channel with live results on MeetMobile.
LAST TIME OUT
Pokes had a historic meet at Mizzou, setting nine school records, countless best times and rewriting the Top 10 swim times.
Junior Tara Joyce broke the first program record with her time of 1:44.97 in the 200-yard freestyle, an NCAA standard time. She would later join freshman Raiden Harris, senior Veronika Ozimek and sophomore Avery True in the 400-yard freestyle relay to break the school record at 3:18.20.
The men’s 200-yard freestyle relay squad of junior Simon Casey, freshman Jack Boysen, freshman Edward Rhoe and sophomore Luke O’Connor set the school record with a time of 1:17.89. Freshman Jackson Kogler would also join Boysen, Casey and O’Connor to break the record in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 2:54.26.
Individuals on the men’s side to break records were Casey in the 100-yard backstroke (47.05) and 200-yard backstroke (1:42.46), Boysen in the 50-yard backstroke (19.58), sophomore Isaac Lee in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:03.74) and Kogler in the 200-yard IM (1:44.46).
Following the Mizzou Invite, senior Collin Davis would travel to Tokyo, Japan, to represent the U.S. as a team captain at the Deaflympics. He came home with six total medals, three gold (Mixed 4x100m Medley, Mixed 4x100m Free, Men’s 4x100m Medley), one silver (Men’s 4x100m Free) and two bronze (Men’s 4x200m Free, 100m Fly). Davis was also part of the relay team that broke two world deaf records and a Deaflympic record.
