SHERIDAN (WNE) — A man who was hit by a tractor trailer last week has died from his injuries.

On Thursday, Aug. 14, a tractor trailer hit a pedestrian at the intersection of West Loucks and South Brooks streets.

According to the Sheridan Police Department, the victim was a 95-year-old man, confirmed by Sheridan County Coroner’s Office as Edward Lee Hammett, who was operating a motorized wheelchair when he was struck. Hammett was transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

On Aug. 18, investigators were notified Hammett died from his injuries sustained in the collision.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the Sheridan County Coroner’s Office was not able to release any information regarding sustained injuries.

The Sheridan Police Department, Sheridan Fire-Rescue and Wyoming Regional Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene.

The incident forced a temporary closure for the southbound lane on South Brooks Street and a full closure of West Loucks Street at the intersection.
