Outlaw Saloon property is purchased for $1.65 million; new owner to build a south side community center.

CHEYENNE (WNE) — The site of the former Outlaw Saloon is set to become a south-side community center.

The Maury and Bonnie Brown Foundation will pay $1.65 million for the land.

Following a notice of foreclosure due to the business having $1.7 million in debt, the property was sold to the foundation at a sheriff ’s auction Monday in the Laramie County Courthouse.

Located at 312 South Greeley Highway, Outlaw Saloon has been in operation for almost 25 years, with a change of ownership to Curtis Crowton and his Bullseye Operations LLC in 2019. The saloon — which closed over the weekend — was known for hosting live indoor and outdoor concerts, and was the biggest bar in Wyoming, according to its website.

R2KBA Management LLC owned the property, and Bullseye Operations LLC owned the business. Crowton owns both companies.

Laurie Talich, who co-owns Town and Country Supermarket Liquors with her husband, Cory, bid on behalf of her parents’ Maury and Bonnie Brown Foundation.

According to a note Talich handed a Wyoming Tribune Eagle reporter at the auction, the Maury and Bonnie Brown Foundation has a longstanding goal to build a new community center for the south side of town. The foundation currently owns land adjacent to the Outlaw Saloon property, and the properties will be combined to accommodate the community center.

According to a Town and Country Supermarket Liquors Facebook post made Monday, development of the center will begin immediately.

Maurice “Maury” Brown was the former owner of Town and Country Supermarket Liquors, just south of Outlaw Saloon on South Greeley Highway. He died Oct. 30, 2023, but is remembered for his philanthropic efforts in the community, which continue after his death through the foundation.
