One dead, two hurt in crash in north Cheyenne
CHEYENNE (WNE) —- One person died and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening at the intersection of Powderhouse and East Riding Club Road.
At approximately 5:58 p.m., an SUV traveling northbound on Powderhouse Road failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a passenger car traveling westbound on Riding Club, according to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office.
The front of the SUV hit the driver’s side of the passenger car, causing the SUV to roll. The driver and passenger of the SUV both sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the car, 79-year-old Cheyenne resident John Lemmons, did not survive injuries suffered in the crash, according to LCSO.
An LCSO Major Crash Unit was called to the scene to investigate and document the incident. This case is currently under investigation, and charges are pending. No impairment is suspected in this crash.
