Office-involved shooting, suspect shot, no officers injured
SHERIDAN (WNE) –- A Sheridan Police Department officer-involved shooting was reported around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning. No officers suffered harm.
According to a press release from SPD, a citizen called SPD around 3:20 a.m. to report a woman who was in distress and making statements about someone wanting to kill her baby.
During the investigation, officers attempted to contact an involved party. The involved party exited the house, then suddenly retreated back into the home. At that time, several shots came from the house in the direction of the officers.
The involved party then exited the house with a long gun in hand, advancing toward officers. Officers engaged the male and shot him.
The man was transported to the hospital for emergent care.
Per policy, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident and the involved officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. No officers were injured.
There is no threat to the community.
