Missouri man faces felony voyeurism charge after 2021 incident in Jackson

JACKSON (WNE) — A Missouri man arrested in Jackson on a felony voyeurism charge is also facing six invasion-of-privacy felonies back home.

Timothy Fry, 34, is accused of secretly recording a woman showering in a Snow King Resort condo — an alleged 2021 hidden-camera incident uncovered only after Missouri investigators combed through his cloud account while pursuing an unrelated case.

In Missouri, the St. Charles County Cyber Crimes Task Force had been investigating Fry following a Cyber Tipline report, according to court records.

Detectives reviewed tens of thousands of files recovered from Fry’s Verizon cloud backup. Among them were images of an adult woman showering in what appeared to be a hotel or condo bathroom. The woman, nude and unaware she was being recorded, was known to Fry. When investigators showed her the images, she identified herself and said they were taken during a vacation in Jackson.

Missouri authorities then contacted the Jackson Police Department. Jackson officers verified the images by photographing the bathroom inside the Snow King condo and matching distinctive features to those recovered from Fry’s cloud account. The confirmation led to a Wyoming arrest warrant issued in July.

Fry appeared in Teton County Circuit Court in August before Judge Erin Weisman, who set bond at $7,000 cash, which Fry’s wife posted.

In September, Weisman transferred the case to Teton County District Court. On Oct. 21, Fry was arraigned before District Court Judge Melissa Owens. As of press time, no additional hearings were scheduled.

Fry is charged in Wyoming with felony voyeurism, which applies when someone intentionally hides or uses a device to record another person’s intimate areas without consent in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as a bathroom.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
