Man dead following Sunday shooting in Casper

CASPER (WNE) — Casper Police officials said a 34-year-old man is dead following a shooting Sunday afternoon. 

Not many details have been released regarding the incident as police try to piece together the circumstances that led up to it. 

Police said officers responded to numerous calls reporting shots fired in the 700 block of North Center Street at around 3:33 p.m. There they found the man with a gunshot wound. 

He was taken to Wyoming Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Authorities said they are questioning a man in connection with the shooting. 

The identities of both the victim and the suspect were not immediately released. 

“Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident between known individuals,” police wrote in a statement posted online. 

Further information about the incident was not immediately released Monday.
