LONNIE DICKINSON

Nov. 1, 1946–April 12, 2024

Lonnie Dale Dickinson was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Sundance, Wyoming, to Kenneth H. and Wyoma Gail Roberts Dickinson. Lonnie joined four older siblings, Terrence, Donna, Raymond, and Kenny. His sister Karla joined the family a few years later.

He passed away April 12, 2024. Lonnie attended school from kindergarten through high school in Newcastle, graduating from Newcastle High School in 1965.

Lonnie served in the U.S. Army from 1968 -1970.

Lonnie met the love of his life, Loa Faye Jones, in September 1970. They were married on July 22, 1972. They had two children, Anthony Charles (Tony) in 1975, and Mandy Rae in 1977.

Lonnie is survived by his, wife Loa; son, Anthony (Kelly); daughter, Mandy; grandchildren, Alyssa Paige, Adrionna Loa (Devon), Shaylin Dawn, Lidia Jane (James) and Aden Von; great-grandchildren, Bristlyn Rae and Cashton (Buck) Eugene; brother, Kenny (Sherry) Dickinson; sister, Karla Rhoades; brother-in-law, Roy Jones (Kim); sisters-in-law, Barbara Petty (Dale) and Ellen Wendt (Kevin); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Terrence and Raymond; and his sister, Donna.

Services were held on Saturday, April 13, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Newcastle. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
