JOAN BORGIALLI

It is with heavy hearts — and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived — that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Joan Borgialli. Joan Marie (Steuble) Borgialli, 84, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 8, 2026, in Newcastle, Wyoming.
Joan was born on Dec. 18, 1941, in Boulder, Colorado, to John and Ethel Steuble. When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Newcastle, the town she would proudly call home for the rest of her life.
Joan graduated from Newcastle High School in 1959. Shortly after high school, Joan met the love of her life, Harry Borgialli. The two were married on Jan. 29, 1960, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and built a life together southwest of Newcastle on the Borgialli ranch. Side by side, they ran a successful cow-calf operation and poured their hearts into raising their four children, Vicki, Lana, Barry, and Todd.
Joan lived a life grounded in community, service, and deep connection. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, CowBelles, and X-T. She proudly served her community as a Weston County election judge and gave generously of her time supporting the American Cancer Society.
Joan loved traveling and exploring new places with family and friends, but above all else, she cherished simply being with the people she loved. Her kindness, warmth, and steady presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her, and she was a constant source of inspiration and comfort as a dear friend to so many.
Her legacy lives on through her family, whom she loved beyond measure.
Joan is survived by her children, Vicki (Bill) Hayman, Lana Love, Barry (Marty) Borgialli, and Todd Borgialli; her grandchildren, Matt (Cassie) Hayman, Andrew (Cheyenne) Hayman, CJ (Aimee Davis) Hunter, Jennifer (Travis) Belt, Kayla Borgialli, Garrett (Taylor) Borgialli, Ty (Paige) Borgialli, Tyler Borgialli, and Annalise Borgialli; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Merilyn Scheck, John (Jana) Steuble, and Shaun (Karen) Singer; her beloved cousins, Peggy (Bob) Svara and Terry Lacey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Steuble, and her loving husband of 46 years, Harry.
Services honoring Joan’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Newcastle on Wednesday, Aug. 12,, at 1 p.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. The family warmly invites everyone to join them back at the First United Methodist Church for a time of fellowship and shared memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made in Joan’s honor to the Weston County Humane Society or the Weston County Manor activities fund.
