COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 20, 2026) – Senior Alicia Gonzalez earned her 10th Mountain West Diver of the Week award of her career while junior Tara Joyce was named the MW Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Tuesday.

With Gonzalez’s 10th Diver of the Week award, she matches Head Diving Coach and former Cowboy, Mark Murdock, with the most Mountain West diver weekly awards, a Wyoming record. She also passed Stephanie Ortiz (’07-’10) for the most women’s Mountain West Diver of the Week awards at Wyoming. At the meet against Denver and Colorado Mesa, she swept the dives with scores of 288.20 in the 1-meter and 336.75, the only competitor over 300 points, in the 3-meter.

Joyce, from Cody, Wyo., became the first Cowgirl to win two Swimmer of the Week awards in a season since 2013 and just the fifth in Mountain West Cowgirl history with her perfect outing last weekend against DU and Mesa. Joyce would win each the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay to help the Cowgirls to a 157-143 victory over Denver and a 176-124 win over Colorado Mesa.
