IS GOD STILL WORKING WHEN NOTHING SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING?
Is God still working when nothing seems to be happening? A Sunday encouragement about trusting God in quiet seasons of waiting, prayer, and faith.
Sometimes we pray, wait, and watch, and nothing seems to change.
The door stays closed. The answer does not come. The burden remains. We may begin to wonder whether God is doing anything at all.
But God is not limited to what we can see.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Much of God’s work happens quietly.
A seed can lie beneath the soil while nothing appears above ground. Yet underneath, roots are forming. Life is developing where no one can see it.
Our lives can be that way too.
While we are waiting, God may be strengthening our faith, changing our priorities, preparing circumstances, working in someone else’s heart, or teaching us to trust Him more deeply.
Waiting does not mean God has forgotten us.
David wrote:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry.” (Psalm 40:1)
Faith is easiest when we can see the answer coming. It is tested when we cannot.
If you are in one of those quiet seasons this morning, do not assume nothing is happening.
Keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep obeying what you already know God has told you to do.
You may not see His hand yet, but you can still trust His heart.
God is often doing His deepest work long before we can see the results.
