Glenrock woman sentenced to probation for adult exploitation

GLENROCK (WNE) — After a jury found her guilty of exploitation of a vulnerable adult last spring, a Glenrock woman was sentenced to three years of supervised probation and more than $5,000 in restitution to the victim.

Goldie Beedy, who was born in 1970, was sentenced Aug. 5. In early May, she was found guilty of exploiting Harold J. Anderson, a Glenrock man diagnosed with dementia.

She was initially arrested in the summer of 2024 after refusing to sign the title to Anderson’s vehicle and trailer house back to him after they’d been transferred over to her.

According to the affidavit for Beedy’s arrest, Anderson didn’t seem to have a coherent understanding of the situation when he’d signed his property over to her.

“Harold recognized he signed the titles over to (Beedy) but did not seem to understand he no longer owned them,” the investigators wrote.

The affidavit also states that Anderson was deemed unfit to make decisions regarding his medical care the day before he signed the titles over to Beedy and that she did not have power of attorney or guardianship over him.

Upon being found guilty of her felony charge, the maximum punishment Beedy had initially faced was up to 10 years in prison.

District Court Judge Scott Peasley sentenced Beedy to four to seven years imprisonment, but this was suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation. 

Along with standard probationary terms, she was ordered to complete an American Society of Addiction Medicine treatment.
