Glenrock baby born at gas station
CASPER (WNE) — A baby boy could not wait a minute longer on his due date as his mother went into labor on the way to the hospital.
Oliver Clayson was born one minute after 911 was called at a gas station off the interstate, according to the news release from Banner Wyoming Medical Center.
Parents Skylar and Kaleb Clayson were on their way to the Casper hospital from Glenrock when her water broke. They were only half way to the hospital by then.
"We were just pulling off the interstate when I was feeling his head," Skylar said in the news release.
The fire department and hospital paramedics responded to the call.
The Claysons were admitted to the hospital about 10 minutes later, and Oliver weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces.
Skylar had been at the hospital the night before with contractions, but she was sent home to wait. Around 5 the next morning, Oliver's official due date, she woke her husband to head to the hospital again.
"I'm just so glad it wasn't snowing like it normally would be," Skylar said. "We were going pretty fast."
