GARY LEE DIXON

Aug. 9, 1943–July 3, 2025

Gary Lee Dixon, 81, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on July 3, 2025. 

Born in Newcastle, Wyoming, Gary was a lifelong cowboy with a passion for team roping. He worked in feedlots, and at various jobs driving truck until Dystonia forced him to quit roping and working. He found joy spending time with his family and playing cards with friends at the Greeley Senior Center.

In October 2024, Gary moved to Life Care Center of Greeley, where he resided until he passed away. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna Dixon; daughter, Laurie (Bobby) Weidiman of Wellington, Colorado; sister, Judy Averett of Missouri; brother, Gideon Dixon and family of Wyoming; stepchildren, Haley Garey, Kris Garey, and Cleve Garey; and seven grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his children, Gay Lynn and Shawn Lee. 

A memorial service will be held in Greeley at a later date.
