Fremont County authorities investigate fatal stabbing of juvenile

RIVERTON (WNE) — Investigators are attempting to locate those believed to be involved in a fatal stabbing early Saturday morning on the north end of Riverton just past city limits.
The attack claimed the life of a juvenile male who has not yet been identified.
According to Fremont County Undersheriff Mike Hutchison, the Fremont County Sheriff's Office and Riverton Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 3:58 a.m. on Saturday morning on the 100 block of Honor Farm Road.
There they found a juvenile male who suffered from at least one stab wound to the back, and though law enforcement and emergency medical crews provided medical treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Hutchison said investigators determined a large group of males who knew one another had been involved in a fight in which the juvenile was stabbed.
"The suspect and several of the involved parties had already fled from the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement," he wrote in a release, adding there were no suspects in custody.
The incident, he said, did not appear to be a random act.
Anyone with information is asked to contact FCSO Detective Wes Barry at 307-332-5611.
