Election Urgency

By
— Jill Kaufman, representing thousands of disgruntled and fed-up voters of Wyoming

To the Editor:

The recent unanimous decision by the House and Senate to investigate the “Check-gate” incident proves that this body can move with incredible speed when it chooses to prioritize accountability. I am asking you to apply that same sense of urgency to the upcoming 2026 election process. We need to remove these election voting machines due to all of the exposed information on their problems, manipulations and foreign interference.

The Director of National Intelligence has stated clearly that there were election problems. The Cyber Information Security Agency (CISA) also made three points clear:

1. if you use electronic machines, you must do a vigorous robust hand count.

2. The number one cause of failure using electronic automated equipment is “employee negligence.” — failure to program machine settings, failure to update software and virus protections, and leaving passwords unsecured and not updated.

3. The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) standard for electronic counting ballot error on ballot ovals is 1 out of 1.2 million. As an example, Wyoming recorded standard error rate is 1 in 75 in one county and 1 in 200-plus in another.

Public records and forensic evidence suggest that Wyoming statutes were not strictly followed during Public Logic and Accuracy testing in many counties. We have presented this data in testimony and hosted experts in over 50 cities to discuss these vulnerabilities.

Despite this, the Wyoming State Legislature has repeatedly voted down measures like the Purity of Election and Hand Count Act. In our possession, we have eight totes of forensic evidence of the counties not following the Wyoming statutes, provided by the counties via Public Records Request!

We presented this evidence to the Corporations Committee and the three interim Corporation Joint Committees, and you did nothing. It has been proven, with evidence, that Wyoming elections have bad problems, and yet no one has come forward with the actual evidence, to this date, that the election machines actually cast and individuals vote correctly!

Laramie County and Weston County election troubles should have set off alarm bells. No one in the legislature, the AG office or the Secretary of State office lifted an eyebrow. Why is it citizens must investigate?

Something is very, very wrong in the world when our elected officials do no investigations. What would you call it: apathy, complacency, incrementalism, cronyism, status quo?

The Weston County case has only been focusing on the subpoena and not her felonies based on SOS Complaint testimony — no follow-up investigation to be safe and sure that all the other counties were in compliance. No follow up investigation by the Department of Criminal Investigation. (Election crimes are criminal not civil.) Help me understand what the heck is going on!

The contrast in your priorities is difficult to ignore administrative “Check-Gate” allegations led to immediate aggressive investigations, and a hearing on “check-gate” while statutory violations in our election process are met with apathy bureaucratic stone walling and no accountability.

Are not your elections so much more important? It is a Constitutional right to vote!

Wyoming’s elections are unchecked, unprotected and there has been no sense of urgency, no regard, no transparency, no interest in votes being cast correctly!

Allegations by Democrats to protect the House floor are okay to investigate, but hard proof shown to the legislature and SOS does not trigger an audit of election officials and their records? You will do a dramatic “nothing burger” investigation on a citizen, but not investigate elections in the counties?

Our vote is not protected! Why has the legislature and Secretary of State’s office failed to act to check election machine functions in other counties? You have a fiduciary responsibility for due diligence. Remember that pesky thing called the Oath of Office where you protect and defend the Constitution.

The citizens want results. This is a government for and by the people and consent of the governed. We exercise control over the government by ballot, and you treat our sacred vote with apathy and indifference.

Are those who run our elections a protected class, or are they subject to the same laws as the rest of us?

We have provided the evidence; you have the subpoena power. I am calling on the House and Senate and the Secretary of State office to immediately investigate election machine compliance and county clerk procedures across the state before we begin our 2026 elections.

It is time to protect the vote of Wyoming citizens with the same vigor you use to protect the House floor!
