EDITH JEAN GROWE: Jan. 8, 1936–Sept. 8, 2026
Edith Jean Growe passed away on Sept. 8, 2026 in Sundance, Wyoming. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, former Highland Park, Michigan, fire chief, Philip Edwin Growe.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Edith spent her early career as a school teacher in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where she met and married Phil, the love of her life. Their honeymoon took them west in the late 1970s where they fell in love with Wyoming and made Newcastle their home for 45 years.
Edie brought cheer to everyone around her with a witty sense of humor and a wonderful ability to make people smile. Her unmatched kindness and joyful spirit will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Edith was interned next to her beloved Phil at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
