Economic Analysis Division releases quarterly MACRO Report

CHEYENNE (WNE) — The latest issue of the MACRO Report, a quarterly publication that provides an overview of Wyoming’s economy based on employment, energy, state revenues and other indicators, has been released.
- Year-over-year total jobs in the state were up 0.1% (+200 jobs) in the month of November.
- West Texas Intermediate oil prices in December averaged $57.97/barrel, 17.3% less than December 2024. Henry Hub natural gas prices averaged $4.25/MMBtu in December, up $1.23 year-over-year.
- Coal (+0.5%) and oil (+0.2%) production have both slightly increased calendar year-to-date through October, compared to the same period in 2024, while natural gas (-2.6%) withdrawals have declined.
- Wyoming’s 2025 third-quarter real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.9% at an annualized rate from the previous quarter. This was lower than the Rocky Mountain region (+4.3%) and the United States (+4.4%).
- Statewide sales and use tax collections (cash based) through the first six months of fiscal year 2026 (July to December 2025) were 0.2% lower than the same period in fiscal year 2025.
- Statewide severance tax collections (cash based) through the first six months of fiscal year 2026 (July to December 2025) were 2.3% lower than the same period in fiscal year 2025.
