#65 UW wins 5-2

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Feb. 20, 2026) – The No. 65 ranked Wyoming Cowgirls earned a 5-2 victory Friday on the road in their first match since becoming a ranked team. Wyoming defeated South Dakota 5-2 to improve to 6-3 after its first match of the weekend.

The Cowgirls began the day by sweeping all three doubles matches and earning the point there. The team of Eugenia Ceinos and Madlena Orlova opened with a 6-3 win at No. 2. At No. 3, Serina Abriola and Anastasiia Kochelaevksaia clinched doubles with a 6-4 victory. Silver Bijlsma and Violetta Borodina won at No. 1, 6-4 to sweep doubles play for UW and improved to 6-1 as a tandem in 2026 and 12-3 overall.

In singles, Abriola got the Cowgirls going at No. 6 with an impressive 6-0 and 6-2 win. That was followed by straight-set victories from Orlova at No. 3 and Kochelaevskaia at No. 1. Orlova won 7-5 and 6-4 while Kochelaevskaia battled her way to a 7-6 (7-5) and 7-6 (7-2) victory. At No. 2, Bijlsma rounded-out the Wyoming wins as she rallied for a 4-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (7-1) win.

Next up, the Cowgirls return to action Saturday afternoon as they face Northern Iowa at 4:30 in a neutral contest.
