SHERIDAN (WNE) — An elderly couple was rescued from Red Grade Road last Thursday, according to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office,

The individuals allegedly slid off the road and got stuck east of Woodchuck Pass on Red Grade Road Dec. 23. A snowmobiler came across the vehicle late Thursday morning and found the two alive in their vehicle.

The snowmobiler was able to find cell service and contact local search and rescue. According to the sheriff’s office, both individuals were OK, but the male was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

“We would like to remind people to adhere to road closures and let people know where you’re going and what time you plan on being back,” Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez said. Red Grade is open up to Dome Lake Road right now but is closed beyond that, Dominguez said.
