NMS students earn top honors

On March 12, five Newcastle Middle School band students along with 12 choir students competed at the Music Festival in Gillette. Sixth-graders Ethan Parsons and Caden Mills, pictured, sing a duet at Sage Valley Jr. High in Gillette. The duo received an Excellent rating on their performance.
The Middle School Music Festival was held March 12 at Sage Valley Junior High School in Gillette. Vocal judges were Kimbrie Garcia, Thunder Basin High School, Gillette, and Steve Grussendorf, Central High School, Cheyenne. Sean McKay was the instrumental judge.
Students are ranked as either Good, Excellent, or Superior.
“I am excited we all ranked either Superior or Excellent,” said NMS Choir Director Jan Ellis when reporting the results.
