Campbell County GOP passes resolution honoring Charlie Kirk
GILLETTE (WNE) — Last week, the Campbell County Republican Party unanimously passed a resolution honoring the late Charlie Kirk.
The central committee of the local GOP had its monthly meeting Thursday, and Greg Bennick brought forward the resolution. He said that he was “very shocked” by Kirk’s assassination, and he thought it was the right thing to do to pass a resolution in honor of Kirk and the work that he did.
The resolution was passed by a unanimous voice vote.
One central committee member noted that Kirk had visited Gillette back in 2020 when he was the keynote speaker at the Wyoming Republican Party’s state convention, which was held at Cam-plex.
“The Campbell County Republican Party stands with the family of Charlie Kirk, his work with (Turning Point USA) and the thousands of young Americans whose lives he touched,” the resolution reads.
The end of the resolution states that the Campbell County Republican Party “condemns all acts of political violence and calls for the perpetrators of that violence to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
