CURTIS ANTHONY ALLEN

Jan. 21, 1949–March 27, 2023
 
Curtis Anthony Allen, Curt, passed away on March 27, 2023. He was the son of Douglas Allen and Jane Smith, both of Newcastle, Wyoming.
 
Curt was born in Newcastle on Jan. 21, 1949. He grew up and went to school at Four Corners, Wyoming, until eighth grade, then attended Newcastle High School. 
 
While in his teens, he met his wife, Kathleen Morgan. They were married early on in life and continued their loving relationship up until his passing. They had three children, Todd Anthony Allen, Troy James Allen, and Travis Morgan Allen.  
 
Curt was in the Marine Corps for 20 years, which took his family to California, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Japan. He was also a survivor of the Vietnam War.
 
When Curt retired from the Marine Corps, he worked at the Missile Silos in Rapid City, South Dakota, then at Wyoming Refinery in Newcastle. Curt and Kathy also owned and operated the Morgan Motel in Newcastle. 
 
Curt was an avid fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and motorcycle enthusiast. He was a man of great stature and took his duties in life seriously, and wanted his family to do the same. Curt not only loved the outdoors but was also an avid reader about our nation’s history.
 
Curtis Anthony Allen was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Allen; his mother, Jane Smith; and son, Todd Allen.  
 
His surviving family is Kathleen Allen, Troy Allen (Tamera) and Travis Allen; his grandchildren, Tiffany Allen (two great-grandchildren), Adam Himrich (Kourtney Himrich and three great-grandchildren), Tyler Allen (Kenzi Allen), Haley Himrich, Taylor Allen, Kyan Allen and Zadyn Allen. He is also survived by his sister, Michelle Janota; and two brothers, Sean Smith, and Edgar Smith.  
 
A memorial service will be held in August 2023.
