LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec. 8, 2022) – The Cowboy wrestling squad is set for their second dual of the season on Saturday night as they head to Colorado Springs, Colorado for a Big 12 showdown against the Air Falcons.
“This is a conference dual and these matches matter and I expect our team to bring a different mentality and attitude than we’ve seen.” Head Wrestling Coach Mark Branch said, “We need 10 guys out there wrestling for the team and wrestling with pride and passion.”
The Pokes are set for a competitive showdown against the Falcons on Saturday night with each team boasting two ranked wrestlers in the projected lineups. No. 14 Hayden Hastings (174) and HM Job Greenwood (141) lead the way for Wyoming while Air Force will be led by No. 21 Cody Phippen (133) and No. 6 Wyatt Hendrickson (285. No. 6 Hendrickson enters the dual coming off of a fourth-place finish at the very competitive CKLV Invite.
Joining the two ranked wrestlers in the Cowboy lineup will be Cole Moody (165) and Chase Zollmann (149) as they both look to flip the script after dropping matches to Air Force grapplers a week ago at the CKLV Invite.
The last time Wyoming and Air Force met in a dual was a season ago also in Clune Arena where the Pokes picked up a 21-17 road win on their way to capping off the season on a four-match winning streak. Both teams will be looking for their first Big 12 win of the season with the Falcons lone win of the season so far coming over Western Colorado.
The dual is set to begin at 7 p.m. MT and will be streamed live on FloWrestling with stats available on TrackWrestling.
