UW hosts Grand Canyon Sunday for Senior Day 

LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 8, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team will have a road-and-home split this week with a pair of matchups. The Cowgirls will travel to face San Diego State at 11 a.m., Friday before returning home for Senior Day Sunday as they face Grand Canyon at 10 a.m.

Wyoming is coming off a split last week on the road, having lost at Air Force, 4-1 before bouncing back for a 4-1 victory at New Mexico. Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia went 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot last week and is now up to an 11-4 mark in 2026. Silver Bijlsma continues to pace the Cowgirls in wins this season after going 1-1 last week. Bijlsma is 14-4 in dual action and is 23-9 overall across 2025-26.

Sunday, UW will honor a pair of seniors prior to the match in Serina Abriola and Violetta Borodina. Abriola clinched the victory against UNM last week. Borodina, who is 5-1 in MW play this season, is 10-4 in dual matches in 2026 in doubles play and is third in program history with 77 career doubles wins.

San Diego State enters Friday with a 15-3 mark overall and is tied for the conference lead with a 7-1 mark in Mountain West play. The Aztecs are 11-1 at home this season. GCU, meanwhile, is 11-10 and 4-4 in league play. The Lopes are 3-7 in road contests in 2026.
