Do you know where your cattle are?

The Weston County Sheriff’s Office has had two calls for missing livestock since May, according to Weston County Sheriff Bryan Colvard. Both cases are still under investigation and are being investigated as burglaries.
One of the calls was for a missing horse, which has since been located. The other was for missing cattle, which still have not been found. Niobrara County also had a missing horse, according to Colvard.
It is not uncommon for calls to come in for missing livestock, Colvard said, and oftentimes cattle are just found in other pastures.
The best thing livestock owners can do is to stay vigilant, check animals as often as they can and report missing livestock as soon as possible, he said.
