Jan. 29, 1944–Sept. 5, 2022
Betty Lou Aldinger was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Roscoe, S.D., to Alma (Braunmeier) and Gus Aldinger. Betty moved to Custer, S.D., when she was a small child and lived her life in Custer until moving to Rapid City, S.D., in February 2022.
Betty loved baking, canning and playing cards during family gatherings. She loved her Bronco. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She liked collecting Betty Boop items and the singer Josh Turner. And we certainly can’t forget to mention that the way to make her very happy was to show up with a couple packs of Diet Coke!
Betty is survived by her daughter, Terri Carlson of Newcastle, Wyo.; son, Chuck (Joey) Carlson of Custer; brother, Dennis (Ruby) Aldinger of Rapid City; sister, Judi (Marlin) Green of Shenandoah, Iowa; granddaughters, Letea (Andrew) Wright, Hallie (Kurtis) Bell, Tessa (Quinten) Arp, Megan (Jerry) Deines, Geena (Justin) Reimers, and Tayler (Tristan Waddington) Carlson; seven great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty passed away in Rapid City on Sept. 5, 2022, at the age of 78.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at Custer Community Church in Custer. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Monday. Committal services will be held at Custer Cemetery in Custer.
Arrangements have been placed under the local care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
